The Challenge
Faced with the pandemic, Rio Tinto took a proactive approach to ensure a safe return to work for its employees. In this context, LAAB was tasked with addressing the challenge of supporting the company in implementing concrete strategies to reduce the risk of contagion and protect the health and well-being of the workforce, particularly across its North American offices, including the Montreal location at Deloitte Tower.
The Response
The project aimed to improve contagion containment strategies, reduce transmission risks, and implement concrete measures to ensure a safe return to the workplace. LAAB studied the existing setup, identified key observations regarding the organization, and ensured compliance with health authority guidelines to limit virus spread, protect employee health, and maintain business continuity.
The guiding principle of the project was that well-managed initiatives not only safeguard employee well-being but also help alleviate fear, foster a culture of care, and strengthen trust in the brand, a principle that remains relevant in managing any project involving employee safety and well-being.
