The Challenge

For the 50th of La Caisse de Dépôt et Placement (CDPQ), the aim was to create a workplace that activates the new business ecosystem, fosters collaboration between the tenants and acts as a destination meeting-place for entrepreneurs. Also to infuse the space with a signature that would evoke the melding of bank-like rigor with free-spirited entrepreneurship.

The Response

Fueled by Brandscaping, an overarching storyline was crafted, inspired by the informal meeting spaces of the Montreal residential lane. The innovative scheme inverts the typical office layout, drawing users inwards to a dramatic double-height atrium featuring a sculptural spiral staircase and a LAB. This singular promenade fosters collaboration and elicits a fluid exchange of ideas between tenants arranged on both floors along the central lane.
