The Challenge

On the northeast slope of Mount Royal, the project aims to convert the Convent of the Sisters of Mary Reparatrix into a residential complex of 35 high-end condominium units, with 2 levels of underground parking.

The Response

The concept involves transforming the chapel into residential units while emphasizing the spatial and symbolic quality of the existing space. The floor plan retains the existing cruciform circulation layout, grouping the units into three wings. A new volume, featuring a simple and modern design, is added to the building on the east façade to rebalance the central volume of the complex.
